The ESV Study Bible was created to help people understand the Bible in a deeper way--to understand the timeless truth of God's Word as a powerful, compelling, life-changing reality. To accomplish this, the ESV Study Bible combines the best and most recent evangelical Christian scholarship with the highly regarded ESV Bible text. The result is the most comprehensive study Bible ever published--with 2,752 pages of extensive, accessible Bible resources.

Customer Rating: Summary: Great Bible, however... Comment: This is, without question, a great Bible. However, I have two issues, one relates to personal pronouns used for members of the Godhead, and the second one is relative to my copy of this Bible which I purchased from Amazon.
Call me quirky, but I prefer to have personal pronouns which refer to members of the Godhead capitalized. The ESV does not do this.
The second issue relates to some type of printing error on about three pages: two in Galatians and one in Ephesians. The text on the binding side of the pages printed in such a way that it appears blurry--as if it were printed over twice. For the main text this is not such a big deal. But, the very small text of the cross-references, and to a lesser degree the text of the study notes, is very difficult to read due to being blurry. This problem is somewhat negated by using a magnifying glass. It's not really a big deal, but I thought that I would mention it.
Customer Rating: Summary: Rev. Carl Galloway Comment: I have read through the ESV One Year Bible for the past 5 years and have been impressed with this essentially literal translation. I have been even more impressed with the ESV Study Bible. I use it along with the NIV Study Bible. This Bible is well worth the money.
Customer Rating: Summary: Well Pleased Comment: The ESV Study Bible meets advertized statements. It is packed with background information and comments on many texts. The online web access is especially helpful to computer students. Even if one doesn't prefer the ESV text, it still is a very helpful study Bible.
Customer Rating: Summary: ESV Study Bible Comment: I learned about the ESV Study Bible from our church. If you want to really learn God's Word, this is a great tool! Excellent commentaries included, along with more maps, charts and relevent information to help you understand God's Word and His message to His children. I believe you will enjoy it! :-) Great price on Amazon and delivery right to my door in awesome time.
Customer Rating: Summary: OUTSTANDING STUDY BIBLE!! Comment: This Bible has it all! Color Maps, charts, good study notes, detailed outlines, a handy concordance, cross refs, timelines, a mini Biblical Doctrine Overview (not a exhaustive systematic theology textbook), a mini guide to major religions and cults in the back, history of salvation in the OT verse guide in the back, and so so much more!! This is the most outstanding Bible I have ever used!
I previously owned the Reformation Study Bible but was not impressed with the study notes, and other helps in the book, so hopefully someone will buy that one. I also own a Zondervan NIV Study Bible which is quite nice and was previously the most advanced study Bible I had used.
My only gripe(s) about this Bible are as follows.
1. Text is in 1 column instead of the traditional 2 column format for Bibles.
2. Words of Christ are not in Red
3. Size
None of these gripes are enough to deduct a star, just hopefully CrossWay will also release a condensed ESV Study Bible and leave the rest of the stuff online, or for those wishing the bigger study Bible. The words of Christ NOT in red will take some time getting used too, but hence the advantage is that no one can read the Bible and argue that only Christs words are inspired.
